What are Qualification Assessment Specifications - QAS

QSE or Qualifyint Small Enterprise

Qualifying Small Enterprises or QSEs are entities with an annual turnover of between R5 million and R35 million.

QSEs may select any 4 of the 7 elements each weighted 25 points, in order to obtain an overall score out of 100.

The practical consequences of this are that entities will select the 4 elements which are the most practical for their businesses by which to be measured, and means that QSEs may legitimately exclude any 3 elements from their scorecard.

This is significant as it effectively renders BEE a far more manageable, practical and less onerous exercise for QSEs.

A QSE may only obtain a BEE Certificate from an accredited Verification Agency.

Generic Enterprise

Generic enterprises are entities with an annual turnover of above R35 million.

Generic enterprises are measured in accordance with the Generic scorecard as contained in Code Series 100 -700, as follows:

Generic enterprises must include all 7 of the above elements in order to calculate their overall BEE score.

A Generic enterprises may only obtain a BEE Certificate from an accredited Verification Agency.
